Description

History

Originally built as a coaching inn during the 16th Century, the Rose and Crown has been offering hospitality to both travellers and locals for over 400 years –a tradition that we are proud to continue. We are located in the centre of Nether Stowey, on the A39 seven miles west of Bridgwater, at the foot of the beautiful Quantock Hills. The village is a mecca for walkers and cyclists wishing to explore the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and for tourists exploring nearby attractions such as Exmoor and Cheddar Gorge.

Accommodation

Our guest bedrooms have recently undergone extensive refurbishment, and have new furniture, bedding and carpets throughout. All of our rooms have en-suite bathrooms and showers, together with TV, hairdryers and tea and coffee making facilities.

If you are looking for family accommodation, we have a family suite comprising one double room, one twin room and a bathroom. The twin room is large enough to accommodate a third bed or cot, making this suite suitable for families of up to five people if necessary.

Food

The Rose and Crown offers a mix of dining styles, from casual bar meals for walkers and cyclists, served in the bar or garden, to intimate dinners in the restaurant.

Food is freshly cooked to order, and where possible salad, vegetables and fruit are grown in our own garden. Meat and fish are sourced from local suppliers.

Our Lunchtime and Evening menu are served every day from 12.00 – 2.30 pm and 6.00 – 9.00 pm.

Take-away food is available every evening.
