Bagnell Cottage is a 4 Star Bed and Breakfast surrounded on all sides by the beautiful Somerset countryside, yet only 10 minutes from the A303.Guests have full access to gardens, picnic areas, ponds and a large meadow or they can choose to follow one of the three footpaths that pass the cottage. If and when our visitors desire a return to civilisation there is a well appointed pub which offers good food, a local shop and a good bus service near by.
Accommodation
The Cottage provides warm, comfortable and spacious accommodation with a large lounge complete with a wide screen television, log burner, and extensive library for the use of guests. Internet access is available.
We offer en suite rooms with a twin or double bed and each bedroom has a view of beautiful natural surroundings. All bedrooms are supplied with colour television, clock radio, hair driers and tea/coffee making equipment.
Enjoy a full farmhouse style breakfast. Local produce is used where possible. We are a member of the ‘Levels Best’ organisation which is run by Somerset Food Links. Special diets are catered for by arrangement.
Tariff
Tariff is between £40 per person per night for a single room and £60-£80 for a double room. We offer reduced rates for stays of five or more nights.
Walking
Whether you fancy a gentle amble or an energetic hike there are three footpaths to choose from which lead from the Cottage to Ham Hill Country Park, historic Montacute House and the Chinnocks. They also link with the Leland Trail as well as the Monarch’s Way, Liberty, and River Parrett Trails. Just think how lovely it will feel to return to Bagnell Cottage after your exertions for a sit down and a lovely cup of tea!
Local Area
Aswell as the wonderful countryside, Yeovil is only a short drive away providing a good selection of shops, cinema complex and two theatres. The Fleet Air Arm Museum and the Haynes Motor Museum are also nearby. The National Trusts Montacute House and Gardens make a great day out, and Lyme Regis and the Dorset coast is easily accessible.
